California Transparency in Supply Chains Statement
The California Transparency in Supply Chains Act of 2010 (California Civil Code § 1714.43) requires certain retail sellers and manufacturers doing business in California with annual worldwide gross receipts over $100 million to disclose their efforts to eradicate slavery and human trafficking from their direct supply chains for tangible goods offered for sale.
Amex Pest Management is a locally owned pest control service company based in the San Diego area. We are not a retail seller or manufacturer covered by the Act, but we share its goals and publish this statement voluntarily so our customers know where we stand.
Our commitment
Amex Pest Management is firmly opposed to slavery, human trafficking, forced or compulsory labor, and illegal child labor in any form. We expect everyone we work with, including our own team and the companies we buy from, to follow all applicable labor and employment laws.
Our supply chain
Our business is providing services, not manufacturing or selling consumer goods. The materials we use include pest control products, bait stations, traps, application equipment, safety gear, and service vehicles. The pest control products we apply are registered for use in California with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the California Department of Pesticide Regulation, as required by law, and we purchase them through established distributors.
Verification
We consider a supplier's reputation, product quality, regulatory compliance, and reliability when choosing who to buy from. Because of our size, we do not currently engage third parties to verify supply chains specifically for risks of human trafficking or slavery.
Audits
We do not conduct formal audits of our suppliers. If we learn of credible information that a supplier uses forced labor, human trafficking, or illegal child labor, we will look into it and stop doing business with that supplier where appropriate.
Certification
We do not require suppliers to provide formal certifications. We expect that the materials we purchase are produced in compliance with the laws regarding slavery and human trafficking of the countries in which they do business.
Internal accountability
Our team members are expected to act ethically and comply with all applicable laws. Any employee who violates the law or our standards of conduct is subject to discipline, up to and including termination. We may end our relationship with any supplier that fails to meet the standards described in this statement.
Training
We share this statement with the team members responsible for purchasing so they understand our expectations and can raise concerns about suppliers.
